The architectural beauty of the villages built entirely out of stone, the legendary arched stone bridges, the natural scenery with the amazing geomorphology, gorges, deep forests and of course the local tradition, cuisine and culture contribute to a strong and special impression on the visitor. Metsovo, on the other hand is a traditional small city located in northern west Greece. The region’s morphology offers imposing landscapes of dazzling beauty as well as a wide range of fauna and flora. A variety of high class local products, such as cheese and wine can be found in these hidden gems of Greece. Both areas are located in high altitude and an extensive network of very low traffic roads is available making them the perfect regions for an unforgettable road bike tour in Greece.

  1. Day1 Athens - Zagoria

    Arrival at Athens International Airport. Departure for our 450km drive to reach Aspangeloi village in Northwest Greece where we will spend the next 3 days. Assembly of the bikes. Dinner – Overnight

  2. Day2 Bike tour in Zagoria

    Breakfast and then beginning of the bike tour of the day. We start pedaling from our hotel in Asprangeloi towards the village Elati. We pass the villages Dikoryfo, Manasis, Karies and Miliotades where we can have a coffee break. The whole route is in unique wild scenery and we use roads with very limited traffic all the way. After our stop we continue towards Ampelos village until we reach Doliani for our lunch break. After Doliani we start our return through the traditional villages of Fragkades and Kipi. Dinner at the hotel.

  3. Day3 Bike tour in Zagoria

    Breakfast in our hotel and then beginning of the bike tour of the day. We start from our hotel for a nice warm up for the first 30 kilometers of the route. After we pass the village Kipi we are heading towards Kato Pedina until we reach Aristi village and then Vikos village where we can admire the beginning of the world famous Vikos Gorge. We return to Aristi for our lunch break and soon after we start the return to our hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

  4. Day4 Short bike tour in Zagoria – Departure to Metsovo

    Breakfast and then we start pedaling for the short bike tour towards Monodendri and Vikos Gorge. We are heading towards Vitsa village, we pass Monodendri and we continue the challenging uphill until we reach Oxia viewpoint of the Vikos Gorge. The view to the gorge will leave us speechless. Return to Monodendri for lunch break and then to our hotel for preparation to our departure to Metsovo. Dinner in Metsovo.

  5. Day5 Bike tour in Metsovo area

    Breakfast in our hotel, we hop on our bikes and then beginning of the bike tour of the day. We use the almost abandoned old National road used to connect Ioannina and Metsovo. The first village is Votonosi and then we meet Chrysovitsa village. After that we are heading towards one of the most beautiful lakes in Epirus. The artificial lake of the Aoos springs. The view of the surrounding area is full of pine trees and high mountains. We enjoy a light lunch in the nature and then we circle the lake until we return back to our hotel in Metsovo. Dinner at the hotel.

  6. Day6 Bike tour in Metsovo area

    We enjoy breakfast in our hotel and then beginning of the bike tour of the day. We leave Metsovo behind and we are heading to Milia village, deep inside the National Park of Pindos. After Milia, the next village we reach will be Kranea. We will turn south after Kranea until we reach the main road which connects Metsovo and central Greece. After a few kilometers we will enter once more the old abandoned National Road and we will start a continuous challenging uphill for about 20 kilometers. Return to Metsovo. Dinner at the hotel

  7. Day7 Departure to Athens

    Enjoy your last breakfast in Metsovo. Today we have the option to ride our bikes until Meteora or we can visit Meteora by car. Lunch in Meteora area and preparation for the transfer to Athens

Built of stone and wood, Hotel Mpagia is located in Kipi, Central Zagori’s main village. It consists of 3 buildings and offers elegant rooms with imposing views of Vikaki Gorge and the village. Wellness facilities offered include a hot tub and sauna.

A traditional breakfast with local products is served daily at the dining area. Guests can enjoy a drink or hot beverage next to the fireplace, or on the outdoor terrace with views. Traditional local flavours can also be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner.
