Starting from the parking lot of the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio we will head north, deep inside into the National Park of Lavrio. We continue pedaling through small forest roads and single trail paths visiting dozens of ancient silver mines including some well preserved processing facilities of silver. We keep cycling into the National Park far away from any traffic and any city noises. A small break will follow at a beautiful chapel before we head for Chaos, an enormous chasm which forms a unique geological phenomenon. All the way during the tour we have the change to admire the fauna of the area along with the magnificent smells and colors offered by the flowers and the rocks of the mines. We end the tour visiting the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio and tasting delicious traditional Greek food and wine in our favorite tavern. Return to Athens.

  3. Day3 Marathon

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Agios Stefanos, at the outskirts of Athens. Safety briefing and we hop-on our bikes to begin riding. We start using an easy to ride dirt road ending at a challenging uphill. We meet the main road until the Marathon Dam where we stop for the necessary photos. Soon after we leave the dam to find ourselves at the base of it and the small nowadays, stream. We pedal in the stream for some demanding mountain biking and then we exit the stream to meet one of the dirt roads that will lead us to Marathon village. We visit the starting point of the original Athens Marathon and soon after we pedal to visit the National Rowing center. After that we will head to the protected pine tree forest by the sea. We continue pedaling to exit the small forest and then we are heading ti visit the Tomb of the soldiers of the battle of Marathon. Then using a coastal road we will end the tour in Nea Makri enjoying a coffee by the sea. Return to Athens. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon to explore the city on your own.

  4. Day4 Parnitha National Park

Pick up from your hotel or a meeting point and then shuttle transfer to Kryoneri, 25km’s from the city centre. Safety briefing, check on the bikes and then beginning of our MTB tour deep into the National Park of Parnitha. The numerous routes and single trails, the fantastic natural beauty and the outstanding landscape make the whole area one of the most popular around Athens. We keep pedaling inside this magical forest towards the water spring “Kithara”, where the remains of ancient waterworks are visible. These waterworks supplied Athens of the Classic Era with fresh water from Mount Parnitha. If you are a fan of uphills, then we can head towards “Katsimidi”, a viewpoint to see the ruins of an ancient beacon, a tower that served communication purposes at ancient times. The routes are flexible and easy adjustable to any riding level. Mountain biking into Parnitha National Park combines everything that should be included in a MTB tour for an unforgettable experience. We end the tour at Kryoneri where we will enjoy a delightful light meal. Return to Athens. Free afternoon.
